El Cinco de Mayo, translated, means "May 5" in Spanish. This traditional Mexican holiday is in honor of the victory of Mexican troops led by General Ignacio Zaragoza over the French at the Battle of Puebla, May 5, 1862. This festival is celebrated not only by the Mexican-American, but those of Mexican origin worldwide!
